Broken Spring Repair
Springs do the heavy lifting on your garage door. When one breaks you’ll usually hear a loud bang, see a gap in the torsion spring above the door, or the opener lifts the door a few inches and stops.
Don’t try to lift the door or touch the spring. It’s under a lot of tension. We carry torsion and extension springs on every truck, so most spring jobs are finished in one visit.

Garage Door Opener Repair and LiftMaster Openers

Cables, Off-Track Doors and Bent Sections
Lift cables work with the springs to raise the door evenly. A frayed or slack cable, a cable off its drum, a door hanging crooked or a door knocked off its track can fall.
Keep the door closed, stay clear of the cables and bottom brackets, and don’t run the opener. We put doors back on track, replace cables, straighten or replace bent track and swap out damaged sections.

Photo Eye Problems
If your door starts to close and then reverses, or only closes while you hold the wall button, the photo eyes are a likely cause. These safety sensors sit a few inches above the floor on each side of the door. They stop working right when they’re out of line, the lenses are dirty or the wiring is damaged.
Wipe the lenses with a soft cloth and follow our guide on how to align garage door safety eyes. If the door still won’t close, call us for a sensor check or replacement.
Power Outages and Battery Backup
Big storms knock out power in Houston. Hurricane Beryl left more than 2.26 million CenterPoint customers without power in July 2024. When the power’s out, pull the red emergency release cord to work the door by hand, and re-engage it when the power comes back.
A LiftMaster opener with battery backup keeps the door working through an outage. If the door won’t move by hand, a spring may be broken. Call us.
